Customers of UK broadband ISP BT may be interested to know that they’ve increased the amount of devices able to harness their new UltraHD 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) video streaming quality on the BTSport TV App for mobile, tablet and large screen devices, which is a service feature that has been in trial since early 2019.
The trial announcement confirms that BT will introduce 4K HDR content to the aforementioned BTSport App “later this summer” as expected, which should significantly improve the picture quality; not that you’ll notice much of a difference when using a smaller mobile display.
The operator said that as part of this extended trial they would also be testing the airplay and casting ability via Apple TV and Chromecast to “ensure the experience is seamless.” The 4K HDR service is expected to cost £5 per month.
